Quaint historical charm in every corner.
My stay was quite disappointing. The service was so unfriendly that checking in felt like a chore rather than a welcoming experience. I waited at the front desk, and when someone finally arrived, I was berated instead of greeted. It felt incredibly unprofessional, and I was left with a sour taste for the remainder of my stay.

The room was spacious and spotless, definitely larger than expected. Beds were super comfortable, which made for a great night's sleep. I loved that fresh coffee and snacks were available all day. The jail-themed decor was pretty unique and added a cool vibe to the place. However, there were no outlets by the bed, and it might be a trek up the stairs with heavy bags for some. Overall, it felt like a cozy little getaway.

The breakfast each morning was surprisingly tasty, and those afternoon cookies were a delightful treat! I loved the cozy lounge for relaxing and the small outdoor seating area to unwind after a busy day. The only downside was that the refrigerator in the room was a bit noisy at times, but it didn’t ruin my experience at all! 😊

easy strolls to parks, awesome food just steps away
The staff here exemplifies hospitality, making my stay comfortable while being just a few minutes away from the beautiful Newport Museum of Art and the charming grounds of Touro Synagogue, both perfect stops to enjoy some city strolls and leisurely park views. plus, you can grab delightful bites at nearby spots like the White Horse Tavern and Perro Salado, all within a short walk. as a solo traveler, I appreciated the large room offering plenty of space to unwind after a day of exploring the area and soaking up the city's rich history, but the continental breakfast could use a little boost in variety.

Unique experience staying in a converted jail with quirky decor. Not enough seating during breakfast and the stairs are steep. Perfect for enjoying local eateries and cycling nearby.

The Jailhouse Inn has a solid continental breakfast with tasty options like hard-boiled eggs and fresh fruit. It’s also just a hop, skip away from fab local eateries like The White Horse Tavern and Perro Salado, perfect for foodies like us. Plus, the coffee and cookies in the afternoon really add a homey touch!
While the breakfast was decent, I wish there was more variety, and an extra chair would’ve made our stay cozier. The stairs can be tough when lugging heavy bags up to our third-floor room.
